Dialogues of the Steel Jaws of Death: Karla Renee and Her Behemoth Autographed Tattoos

Fandom. Something many Metalheads can relate to. As a society, we are drawn in by those who make the most crucial component of our culture happen, the music.

There are many different types of fans. The casual fan will consist of individuals who have a passing interest in a band and afterwards, move on to another band. The mid-level fan is someone who will buy a shirt or 2 and listen to said bands albums in semi-rotation.

Than you have the elite of the fandom squad, the hardcore, it's :::INSERT NAME OF BAND HERE::: or nothing. These are the ones who have dedicated a good chunk of their life (in many or every facet) to the band of their choice. Sometimes it can be investing a good chunk of money (like albums, schwag, concerts), time (waiting for hours after a concert for the band to come out to sign autographs and meet their fans), and sometimes beyond (like getting a tattoo to signify their loyalty, or sacrifice living beings to their chosen Metal God/Goddess, or burning a church in the name of their overlord behind the instrument.).

Today we look at one individual who decided to take the hardcore route in the may trails of Heavy Metal. During the 2012 Barge to Hell event, a very unsuspecting but awesome lady decided to get her arm autographed by the members of Behemoth, and took it a step further and had her autographed arm tattooed in the Bahamas, staking her claim in Metal History.

Deny Six Feet Under entry to Barge to Hell

Folks, this just came into the wire.

It seems somebody has started a petition to deny Six Feet Blunder entry into the Barge to Hell.

The back story behind this was a "fight" (nobody knows the REAL facts, but let's stick with the quotation marks since it involved 2 of Metals most annoying members and bands) that happened between Chris Barnes (of Six Feet Blunder) and Travis Ryan (of Cattle Flatulation) recently. I for one have already signed it, and while this won't do anything to get Six Feet Blunder off the Barge to Hell, it still pretty fun to support such an endeavor.

Recent Updates and Some Small News

Metal Trek was recently updated with The Maiden Voyage Section. This is the most crucial part of the blog as this will provide all the information on how to travel to a Metal Festival right down to the dollar. This was a long process as I had to do some MAJOR revisions from the Wacken Trek edition, and that's why it couldn't join the launch of Metal Trek. Check it out \m/

The Euro Metal Fest Tour 2011 has been revamped with proper links so it is no longer linking to the old Wacken Trek website. One thing I need to mention is that the Vienna portion had to be taken down due to a mistake I did and as a result, I need to fix it before bringing it back up again.

The Last Day, Schwag and Thank You post have been split into 4 components as it was too big for all the pictures to be seen (the pics were not loading properly). This also make for an easier read so you can pace yourself and go by "chapters" instead of one big read.

Once I have fixed the issue with the Vienna post, I am taking a small break from blogging as I need some personal "ME" time. Once I am done with my break, I will re-focus my attention on Metal Trek and Channel 13.

I also have plans on on re-posting my 2011 Maiden Weekend and the 2012 Iced Earth Florida Tour, but instead of just posting the pics, I will re-haul them for a proper blog post (in other words, a lot of senseless commentary on the trips from yours truly =D ).

Finally, the countdown to the Barge To Hell continues and as indicated some time ago, I managed to get in to the cruise thanks to Vaughan Pollard as he and his buddies had one more space left and offered it to me. I don't have to say how fortunate I was for this opportunity and how grateful I am to him for making this happen. For obvious reasons, my trip will be extensively covered and it will be Metal Trek's first original post.

The Countdown to the Barge to Hell begins

I have placed a countdown to the Barge to Hell on this blog and Wacken Trek for all of you to know either A) how much time is left to prepare if you are one of the voyagers, or B) for those of you unable to go, at least you know when this historical event will happen on the "second", or C) for those who of you who want to know when I go to Davey Jones Locker \m/.

I will take a slew of pictures and videos for Wacken Trek for all to see the horrors that is a Metal cruise, with the usual senseless commentary from me.

My Personal Message about Barge to Hell...

In case your wondering why the Barge to Hell plea link is down, it's pretty simple. I...AM...IN!6!6!6! That's right everybody, after some patience and waiting, it finally happened. I am going to be one of the "Original" Voyagers to launch the Extreme Metal answer to cruising, and I want to extend a huge and \m/ HEAVY \m/ thanks to Vaughan Pollard for allowing this to happen as finding a cabin in this boat was not an easy task. I owe him and his squad a huge debt of gratitude and many horns \m/6\m/6\m/6\m/

I would like to share a story with all of you regarding the whole Metal cruises that have been happening a lot lately.

My first attempt was the inaugral 70,000 Tons of Metal that occured on January 2011, and missing it was one of my many "Metal" regrets as at the time, like with many others, I was facing a very serious situation that prevented me from going.

My second attempt on the 2nd 70,000 Tons of Metal was something that couldn't happen since I had my European Metal Festival Tour 2011 that I needed to deploy my resources to, and since the 2012 70,000 Tons of Metal was the 2nd event and with the huge success that followed the first one, I knew I can skip it without worrying about the next set of cruises.

Than comes the announcement of Barge to Hell, and with it, an opportunity to redeem myself from missing the first 70,000 Tons of Metal.

And now, the countdown to the Barge to Hell begins...
