Paper House Productions Guitar Magnetic Bookmarks

In the last 10 years or so, the Metal Fans reading armament has increased significantly with the likes of Lemmy Kilmister releasing his autobiography White Line Fever, Iron Maidens biography Run to the Hills, and Annick Giroux Hellbent for Cooking: The Heavy Metal Cookbook. While these are just modern examples, there plenty of other books out there with the Metal subject taking even more space in the library shelves.

As discussed prior, since a Metal fans life can be busy at times (with all the concerts/festivals/house parties/traveling/working/studying/etc.), sometimes we need to put the book down in order to address these necessities.

But what is a Metal fan to do when there are so many books and trying to keep track of all the chapters? That's where Paper House Productions comes into the picture with their Guitar Magnetic Bookmarks.

I managed to pick these up at Office Max, and for about $2, you got a major bargain that is usually not seen these days.

We'll begin with the least Metal (or not Metal at all) guitar and progressively go from here so we can save the best for last. First up is the Fender Jaguar. This model is usually reserved for hipsters and greaser punks.

As you can see from the back of the bookmark, the magnets are there, and the magic trick they do to save your spot is very simple but "special".

Next on the list is the Telecaster model. Again, another instrument that is not so Metal, but at least it's a lot better than the Jaguar.

We now move into the serious territory as the next model is the all too familiar Stratocaster. This instrument is *almost* a required guitar to have if you are a electric guitar player. I don't have to go down the list of Metal musicians that at one time or another used this model, but just to be on the safe side, here are some of them: Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, Morgan Steinmeyer Håkansson, Ritchie Blackmore.

This is the headliner of the batch as we have the Jackson Dinky guitar. I call this the "AK47" of the electric guitar world as it is Jacksons most basic and widely distributed model, and all levels (from their J-Series to Custom shops, and everything in between) are reliable and of quality, the appearance of the guitar is ready to hit the stage regardless if it is wiped down or dirty and grimy, and extremely affordable (starting at $200).

Not that this was needed, but the instruction are printed in the back for the proper use of this device. As simple as pi (3.14159265359...).

A simple fold of the bookmark and the magnets lock the page in place.

For those who tend to complicate simple tasks, here is an example of how to utilize these bookmarks. First, grab your favorite book about Metal.

Second, read and when you are done reading, hold the page in place.

Third, place the bookmark on top of the page that needs to be saved for future continuation of the text passages.

Fourth, and the final step, close book.

To continue reading, just grab book, open to where the bookmark is safely holding your spot, and continue.

While as awesome as these bookmarks are, I'll be the first to admit that I wished all four bookmarks were Jacksons instead of just 1. Imagine it, you would have a Randy Rhoads, a Kelly, and a Warrior. While we're dreaming, we might as well dream a Jackson Guitars Death Angel as well \m/

Axe Cool Metal

A Metal fans hygiene has always been a spectacle of debates amongst ourselves, teachers, principals, parents, friends, and even personal pets (fluffy can probably tell you more about your smell than you will ever know). From the touring musicians who don't have the luxury of a $300,000 tour bus, but rather a beat up '89 Dodge Van to the Camping Metal Festival attendees who have to resort to interesting methods of cleanliness (or lack thereof), hygiene has always been a challenge for the legions, until now.

Introducing Axe Cool Metal, a very awesome way to get cleaned up and smell great. Your girlfriend will thank me for this suggestion.

When you think of Heavy Metals colors, the color black comes into the picture instantly, since that color has been emblazoned on t-shirts (especially), guitars, jeans, patches, and just about anything and everything. Of course, there are the other colors that add to the Metal rainbow, for example, red, and...uh, yes, but
there is also silver, and this color typically is found on the jewelry of the mighty, like the skull rings, the pentagrams/iron crosses/etc. hanging from our necks. This color is about as Metal as it visually gets, and with Axe's choice of #999999 as it's palette to deck this body wash, it goes to show why this is very Metal, aside from the obvious name. Axe is no stranger to keeping people clean, and they have produced a line of products that have earned their success throughout the years, but what makes this product Metal is the fact they made it to look very Metal in terms of the chosen color tone.

The first item is the flagship of this product line, the body wash. Typically found in bottles of 12 oz, this is what makes or break the line from their offerings
.

Every once in a while, they might be generous and offer an extra 50% at no extra cost to encourage people of it's existence, and that's where you get a whopping 18 oz of the soapy goo for those extra long tours.

Next up is the body spray, and this is typically reserved for after the shower when you need that smell to keep going into the venue/clubs/dates/etc. You can also use this to cover your smoke tracks in case your mom comes in for her regular drug
inspections/cleaning your room.

The Detailer is Axe's response to the shower sponge. They made it look like a tool that came straight out of a mechanics toolbox.

The thick part is for use on the general parts of the body.

The small part is meant to scrub elbows/knee/heels/really tough stains, or in case you got some dry blood from elbowing an emo bastard child on the nose from last nights moshpit at the Slayer concert.

The best part of picking this up they included a free sample of Cool Metal body wash, in case the procurer has not tried it before. It's like a mini me version of the 12 oz bottle.

To show you the goods first hand (every pun intended), it definitely looks like the blood of a Metal God after it got cut battling Trolls.

Drinking from this will not grant you the powers of Metal, but will sure as hell give your stomach to something complain about for hours.

As a bonus to this post, I also found Axe has another (amongst the millions they offer) scent of their body spray but equally Metal called "Music", and as you soon see, they meant Metal music, with a Jackson Randy Rhoads flying in the can.

Final Verdict: Cool Metal definitely has a great smell to it that will please the ladies thus making it easier for you to spread Metal love all over the place. And the Music body spray scent will give you an excellent alternative scent. Definitely recommended.
