Pizza, a staple of the Metalheads diet since the birth of modern Heavy Metal. When out on tour, before/after a concert, or just in your room in a typical Friday/Saturday/Sunday night, Pizza has always nourished us.
Todays post is a drastic change to the way the pie was delivered, in a very HEAVY way. Introducing Domino Pizza's Gotham City Pizza.
This pizza came to be back when the Dark Knight was in theaters of the 2008 summer season, and as you'll soon see, it had a unintended Metal result.
The Pizza Box the pie was delivered or picked up in was definitely fitting not only for the comic nerds, but for the Metal fans (We are actually one in the same actually.) as the box was dipped in black with hints of gray.
As you can see, they were really getting into the whole metropolis like city atmosphere that is Gotham, and if this one box of pizza has a specific sub genre of Metal influence, it would definitely be Industrial Metal.
Aside from the box getting a unintentional Metal makeover, the pie itself was not spared of the Metal treatment. The pizza looks like it went through a blood red storm (now there's a Metal song title.) and what's left is a juicy burgundy road of death. The taste was just a concentrated dose of pepperoni that left your mouth with more of ting than normal.
A Harry Sachz approved pizza for the worthy, a sad shame it's no longer offered, and with the third and final installment of the Chris Nolan Batman series coming up later this year, let's hope they give this pie and pizza box a 2nd run.
