Yttrium Cuisinier: Brutal Blueberry Pie Assault

Channel 13 is proud to announce a new series of posts titled "Tales of the Yttrium Cuisinier". This new section of Channel 13 will deal with cooking the Metal way, and while there are plenty of cooks infused with Metallic elements, this will be my version of it.

The first post of this new series will be dedicated to a Metal Fest of Brutal proportions. Introducing the Brutal Blueberry Pie Assault.

INGREDIENTS:

Vanilla Yogurt (32 oz).
Rumple Minze Peppermint Schnapps (200ml).
Fresh Blueberries (Approximately 2 Cups).
Oreo Cookie Pie Crust.

HARDWARE:

2 Plates approximately 6" - 7" in diameter.
A deep bowl that can hold approximately 3 - 4 cups of liquid.
A bowl that is approximately 6" - 7" in diameter.
Plastic Strainer (medium to big).
Paper Towel.
Spoon.

RECIPE:

I6Z6A6N NOTE: The following recipe requires a 24 hour prep time. This will be explained further in this post. Also, please make certain to have all the aforementioned items listed in the "INGREDIENTS" and "HARDWARE" section before proceeding.

Begin by taking one of the 6" - 7" diameter plates and empty 1 cup of fresh blueberries onto the plate.

Separate the "good berries" from the "bad berries" on the second 6" - 7" plate.

For a better example of the "good berries" from the "bad berries", please see below image.

With the "bad berries" separate and thrown away, go through the remaining "good berries" and remove the stem.

With the "good berries" stems removed, begin placing all the "good berries" in the plastic strainer and rinse them with water. Allow excess water to pour into drain from strainers bottom.

Using one of the 6" - 7" plates, place 1 sheet of paper towel on top of plate.

Begin moving the "good berries" onto plate with paper towel. Allow to dry for a couple of minutes.

After a couple of minutes, begin placing "good berries" into deep bowl.

With the "good berries" in the bowl, fill the entire 200ml of Rumple Minze Schnapps into bowl.

Place bowl inside refrigerator (not freezer) and allow to settle for 24 hours. Every 2 hours (if you need to sleep, don't worry, you can continue in the morning) while inside the refrigerator, gently stir (Without rupturing) the berries. You will notice as time progresses the liquid level of Rumple Minze Schnapps will begin to fall, and this is due to the blueberries absorbing the schnapps.

With the 24 hour time period over, remove deep bowl with blueberries from freezer and place next to 6" - 7" diameter bowl.

Place the Vanilla Yogurt inside 6" - 7" diameter bowl.

Gently remove blueberries from the deep bowl into other bowl with yogurt. Leave the Rumple Minze Schnapps behind in deep bowl.

Gently "massage" (without rupturing) the blueberries in the yogurt using a spoon.

Place yogurt with blueberries in Oreo Cooke Pie Crust, and use spoon to level off the top part of the pie.

Leave in freezer for approximately 2 hours (this is an estimation, but DO NOT ALLOW to be as hard as ice). This will firm the yogurt so it maintains structural integrity for the pie slices to be cut clean and for presentation as well.
